Job Identification

We are looking for Tax Executive who is responsible for supporting the tax affairs of the company with relevant tax authorities in both south and north Iraq , to be within our finance team located in Baghdad.

What We Except

  • Negotiating maximum tax benefits for the business and maintaining cordial relationships with tax authorities. 
  • Lobbing in tax authorities to safeguard the business risks and minimize the cost of taxes for the company.
  • Reduction of compliance risks by ensuring accurate & timely filing of all tax returns as per Iraqi law in the tax department.
  • Ensuring smooth Income Tax Audits and handling of the tax assessments proceeding with tax authorities.
  • Give clarity on all tax laws to ensure adequate implementation/adaptations by the company. 
  • Coordinating with Accounting, and Business planning teams to ensure adequate tax provision in accounting records, at each month-end closing., and correct tax estimates in rolling and strategic business plans.
  • Coordinating with External Auditors (as per Iraqi Law) for all tax-related matters.
  • Coordinating with the Local Auditor to prepare the local financial statements.
  • Coordinate with related stakeholders (internal and external) to solve matters, which are prerequisites for getting tax clearance. 
  • Minimization of transaction risks by tax review of all the business agreements for any tax implications and through day-to-day tax advice on various tax issues.
  • Any other assignment given by the line manager and senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years ‘experience in finance, 2+ years at least in taxation affairs.
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Well-versed in tax laws 
  • Upper Intermediate in English, Kurdish is a plus 
  • Good knowledge of accounting 
  • Team player
