Job Identification

Mission Statement

  • To ensure the growth and operations of company business by providing legal support including drafting, reviewing and aligning business's thoughts in the agreements in relation to all business functions
  • To ensure the company's interest is duly protected by contract negotiations with stakeholders
  • To manage readily available resources, updating on legal and professional development and efficient support to the business by interacting and having close contacts with external lawyers, regulatory bodies and professional peers

To create legal awareness among the business colleagues on issues the business faces in contract and corporate secretary matters.

Main Responsibilities

  • To draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements
  • To draft/oversee the standardization of various agreements, notices, letters, etc.
  • Serve as Company Secretary providing legal guidance and corporate reporting/disclosures in compliance with the law
  • To defend the company in interactions with governmental officers during audits and inspections;
  • Identify any potential risk of dispute from contract-based relations and suggest ways to address it in a timely manner
  • Advice, consult, facilitate and sensitize on Company policies and procedures and ensure smooth management of contract management related matters of the company
  • Sustain regulatory documents with regards to licenses and permits
  • Providing legal advice and support to various business units

Policies, Procedures & Compliances:

  • Providing legal assistance to all internal stakeholders in regards to development/revision of internal policies, procedures which ensure overall transparency, efficiency and risk mitigation
  • Ensure that company is compliant with all applicable laws & regulations and provide legal advice and guidelines for relevant matters
  • Conducting legal research and keep abreast of legislative changes
  • Management of auditors’ observations and devise action plans to enhance level of compliances related to contract management and corporate secretary
  • Managing litigation and coordinating with external counsel

Represent the company in negotiations and court proceedings

Candidate Education

Bachelor or Master of Law

 

Minimum:

5+ years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm
